Overview

Sigicom devices support one trigger threshold level at a time. However, you can still work with multiple alarm levels, such as green, amber, and red thresholds, by combining the device trigger setting with message rules in INFRA Net.

The recommended setup is to configure the device with the lowest required trigger level and then use INFRA Net message rules to manage the additional notification levels.

Recommended Configuration

Set the trigger level on the device to the lowest desired threshold value.

For example, if the required vibration thresholds are:

  • Green: 0.2 mm/s

  • Amber: 0.4 mm/s

  • Red: 0.6 mm/s

the device should be configured with a trigger level of 0.2 mm/s.

The remaining threshold levels should then be managed in INFRA Net using message rules.

Example Message Rules in INFRA Net

Create separate message rules for each required notification level:

Alarm level

Message rule name

Trigger type

Threshold value

Green

Green Threshold Exceeded

Trigger Values

Value configured on the device, for example 0.2 mm/s

Amber

Amber Threshold Exceeded

Absolute Values

0.4 mm/s

Red

Red Threshold Exceeded

Absolute Values

0.6 mm/s

In this setup, the device sends data when the lowest threshold is exceeded. INFRA Net then evaluates the configured message rules and determines which notifications should be sent.

Important Notification Behavior

Each message rule in INFRA Net is processed individually.

This means that if the measured value exceeds a higher threshold, such as 0.6 mm/s, all matching rules may be triggered at the same time. In this example, the green, amber, and red rules would all be processed because the value exceeds all three configured thresholds.

As a result, recipients who are included in all three message rules may receive multiple notifications for the same event.

Recommended Recipient Setup

To avoid sending multiple notifications about the same event to the same person, configure different recipients for each alert level.

For example:

Alarm level

Suggested recipient

Green alert

Site technician

Amber alert

Project technician

Red alert

Project admin or project lead

This approach ensures that each stakeholder receives the notifications most relevant to their role, while reducing duplicate messages.

Summary

When using multiple trigger thresholds:

  1. Configure the device with the lowest desired trigger level.

  2. Create separate message rules in INFRA Net for each alarm level.

  3. Use Trigger Values for the lowest threshold configured on the device.

  4. Use Absolute Values for higher thresholds.

  5. Adjust recipient lists to avoid duplicate notifications.

This setup allows you to manage multiple notification levels in INFRA Net, even though the device itself supports only one trigger threshold at a time.
